About this deal

I haven’t actually tried Benefit mascara before now (oops), so unfortunately I can’t compare but from everything that I have read, people didn’t think that they could match or surpass their previous mascara launch but have been pleasantly surprised! Both the top and bottom lashes were enhanced, replacing the need for an eyelash curler, which is a blessing since we don’t all have time to fit this into our daily beauty routines! When I first applied this I felt a slight tug on my lashes which is down to the little hooks on the brush which grab even the smallest of lashes.

The tube is black with a baby pink top shaped like a hair roller (not on the sample size unfortunately), with matching baby pink writing on the tube. Benefit is running a contest through the 17th – tweet them with your most woeful eyelash curler story for the chance to win Roller Lash and a ton of other goodies! The Benefit boffins definitely have form in the lash department – cult favourite They’re Real is currently the UK’s best-selling mascara. The wand is everything when it comes to mascara, and Benefit did an amazing job with the design of this one - my lashes are longer, fuller, and much more lifted than they were before.

I apologize so much for this and while I haven’t fallen off the face of the planet, I have been rather ill. A mascara inspired by hair rollers, this super-curling and lifting mascara gives a sexy, wide-eyed look. This mascara is all about that all-important eye opening curl and if this lives up to the hype, you could well be ditching those eyelash curlers in a most unceremonious manner! The full-size Benefit Roller Lash Curling Mascara retails for RM115 and can be found in Benefit boutiques and counters. The idea of this mascara is that you don’t need to use an eyelash curler with it as it does all the work for you. There seems to be too much product loading on the brush but that's probably because I didn't know anything about the scrapey thing that it has. I find that it makes me look like I’m wearing false eyelashes because my lashes are long and close together anyway without mascara, it just kind of makes them extremely long and full of volume, I totally agree about not needing to curl your lashes!

But with crazy-sensitive eyes that tear up at the merest suggestion of the music from Up (the other day I even cried about how cute a dog on Instagram was), I very rarely wear the stuff. Since the Roller Lash brush is smaller than your average mascara wand, allowing it to manoeuvre pretty effortlessly around your eyes, and latches itself onto your lashes with an almost magnetic force, I found this to be one of the easiest mascaras I’ve ever used; it manages to grab onto your lashes so intuitively that you barely need a mirror to apply it, and Benefit has even designed the tube with an in-built “wand wiper” that gets rid of excess product (a definite plus as the formula is on the wet side). My favorite mascara of all time (see I'm blind without glasses, so I look dopey as all get out trying to make sure I was looking right at the camera to give a one coat on one eye photo comparison)! The mascara lasted well throughout the day and I didn't experience any flaking at all, I found with the Benefit They're Real mascara that I had a lot of little bits of black under my lower lash line where the mascara flaked, that said I really don't like they're real at all, but that's a whole other blog post. I don't leave too long a gap in between coats as it can start to clump up a little, if I go back for another coat later on I use the longer bristled side of the wand to apply as this produces less clumps.
